About this trek
Explore the hidden world of Patalkot — a valley sunk 1,200 feet below the plateau, 175 km from Bhopal, where a handful of villages have lived cut off from the rest of the country for centuries.
Travel is on us, by bus from Bhopal. One night camped at Kaream with a bonfire, one night in the village at Chimtipur, and a full day walking the Patalkot circuit in between.
What it costs — ₹7,499 solo. ₹6,999 a head for a couple, ₹6,499 a head for a group of four, ₹5,999 a head for a tribe of seven.
Friday 2nd October — Bhopal to Patalkot
- 5:30 AM — leave Bhopal by bus.
- 6:30 AM — tea and snacks.
- 8:30 AM — breakfast at Pipariya.
- 10:30 AM — reach Tamia.
- Chimtipur viewpoint — the panoramic look down into Patalkot Valley.
- Ghatlinga — the way down to the Doodhi River, trails and waterfalls, the Zingaria Waterfall area among them.
- Park at Kaream, then on foot: the Doodhi River, Raja Kho (Raja ki Gufa) and the gorge trail.
- Patalkot village experience.
- Evening — camp at Kaream, bonfire and dinner.
Saturday 3rd October — the Patalkot circuit
- Sunrise viewpoint.
- Breakfast.
- Full-day Patalkot circuit trek, lunch on the trail.
- Drive back up to Chimtipur.
- Village night stay at Chimtipur.
- Stargazing — Andromeda at its best, Saturn at opposition.
- Village special dinner.
Sunday 4th October — Tamia and home
- Chimtipur village back to Tamia.
- Waterfall trek at Tamia.
- Lunch.
- 3–4 PM — back in Bhopal.
Times shift with the weather and the group — nobody is rushed off a rock.
