History, nature and adventure — all in one weekend.
Saturday night — camping at Bhojpur. We camp beside the Bhojpur group of monuments, the unfinished Shiva temple that has been standing there since the 11th century. Campfire and music after dark, dinner cooked on site, and stargazing with nothing overhead but sky.
Sunday morning — rock shelters at Bhimbetka. A UNESCO World Heritage Site: sandstone shelters where people painted on the walls tens of thousands of years ago, and the paint is still there. Deer, bison, hunters, dancers. We walk the shelters at an easy pace, stop where the light is good, and take in the views over the Vindhyas.
Pick-up and drop, dinner on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday, camping gear and an expert guide are all included.
Early bird offer, limited slots.
